THIGH LIFT
PHOENIX, AZ
Thigh Lift in Phoenix, Scottsdale, Gilbert, Mesa, Glendale, Paradise Valley and surrounding AZ cities
Who Should get a Thigh Lift?
You may be an ideal candidate for a thighplasty if:
- You want firmer and more youthful looking legs
- You lost weight or muscle leaving the skin on the wrinkled/sagging
- You previously had liposuction that left loose skin
In cases where the skin elasticity is good, liposuction alone may be used to remove excess fat to form new body contours. But in situations where the elasticity of skin is poor, a thigh lift together with liposuction might be recommended. Dr. Jude LaBarbera will assess your thighs and come up with a proper, individualized treatment plan for you.
Surgical Procedure
Thigh lift plastic surgery takes two or more hours to complete and is typically performed under general anesthesia as an outpatient procedure. The surgeon will examine and consult with the patient to ensure that incisions are made in the most effective manner for each case. The various types of thigh lift procedures include an inner thigh lift, a bilateral thigh lift, and a medial thigh lift.
Medial Thigh Lift
focuses on removing excess fat and tightening the skin on the upper parts of the inner thigh. An incision will be made from the groin all the way to the inner buttock crease. The surgeon will then remove excess fat and tighten the skin to enhance the appearance of the upper, inner thigh. Before thighplasty, the surgeon will mark the thighs while the patient is standing. Once the procedure is complete, incisions are typically shut with deep sutures to ensure there’s no sagging after healing. Many skilled surgeons hide the scar from the surgery well in the groin crease. During thighplasty targeting the outer thigh, the surgeon may lift the entire thigh and buttock (circumferential lower body lift). This procedure necessitates longer incisions than an ordinary thigh lift. In cases where there’s an extra-large amount of fatty tissue, liposuction may be performed before a thighplasty.
Inner Thigh Lift
This procedure targets the inner thigh area. It is usually a good option for patients who have a mild to moderate amount of excess fat and skin. This option is more involved and includes a final scar down the inner aspect of the thigh toward the knee.

After Surgery
The recovery time after thighplasty varies depending on the extent of the procedure. Most patients experience a minimal degree of pain but this can be alleviated with medication. After surgery, patients are required to avoid leg movement and rest as much as possible for about 10 days. Most of the swelling and bruising are going with a few weeks, and many patients are able to resume their normal routine within 2 months.
