Breast Lift Scottsdale
Breast lift Scottsdale plastic surgery removes excess skin and tissue to reshape and support a new breast contour. This surgery is perfect for women whose breasts have begun to droop – mostly as a result of pregnancy or aging. It’s normal for the skin to lose elasticity as part of the aging process. When this happens, the breasts lose their natural shape and begin to sag. Physical changes during pregnancy and breastfeeding may also cause drooping breasts. Dr. Jude LaBarbera helps women from the Scottsdale area restore a youthful, perky breast appearance.
Some women with drooping breasts also choose to have breast implants inserted to increase the size of their breasts. Dr. LaBarbera works closely with each one of his patients to help achieve that desired, shapely breast look.
What is a Breast Lift?
Medically known as mastopexy, a breast lift is a surgical process designed to lift and reshape breasts that have sagged. Over time, aging, pregnancy, breastfeeding, weight fluctuations, and gravity can cause the breasts to lose their youthful shape and firmness. This breast surgery involves removing excess skin and the tightening of surrounding tissues to elevate the breasts. The goal is to rejuvenate the breast profile by achieving a more youthful and uplifted appearance.
While both breast lift (mastopexy) and breast augmentation are procedures that enhance the appearance of the breasts, they have distinct goals. A breast lift Scottsdale focuses on lifting and reshaping sagging breasts to make them look perkier and more youthful without significantly changing their size. On the other hand, breast augmentation focuses on increasing the size and enhancing the fullness of the breasts, usually through the use of implants. It does not correct sagging; therefore, in cases where sagging is present, a breast lift might be necessary in addition to augmentation. Essentially, a breast lift is about enhancing the shape and position of the breasts without altering their size, whereas breast augmentation is primarily concerned with increasing their size.

Breast Lift Recovery and Aftercare
Recovery after breast lift plastic surgery varies from one patient to the other. Feeling tired and exhausted after breast lift surgery is perfectly normal. These feelings will fade away after a while. Dr. LaBarbera will encourage patients to move gently around 48 hours after the surgery. However, activities that may cause strain are strictly prohibited. That means you cannot lift any heavy items in the first few weeks after surgery. Exercise should also be avoided within 6-8 weeks after breast lift surgery.
While scars may be quite visible after surgery, these fade away with time – and will become less noticeable. Some patients tend to experience pain after the surgery, which can be relieved using a mild painkiller. Aspirin should be avoided, though, because it can cause bleeding. Any swelling and bruising will subside within a month.
Showering may be possible, but keeping the breast dressings intact and dry is very important. Dr. LaBarbera will provide instructions on dressing and showering in order to ensure an uninterrupted healing process.
