SCOTTSDALE AZ
Necklift in Phoenix, Scottsdale, Gilbert Glendale, Paradise Valley, Mesa and surrounding AZ cities
Scottsdale surgeon Dr. Jude LaBarbera performs neck lift surgery to address age-related wrinkling and creasing in the neck area. Many of his patients are individuals who have lax and sagging neck skin mostly due to aging and weight loss.
The disappearance of youthful contouring in the neck and face can be attributed to various factors such as heredity, gravity, stress, and environmental conditions. When the neck region doesn’t match the facial appearance, then a neck lift might be the best solution. Dr. LaBarbera uses advanced surgical techniques to produce dramatic results safely meet each patient’s personal aesthetic goals.
Who should have a Neck Lift?
You might be a good candidate for a neck lift procedure you have:
- Excessive lag of skin and fat in the lower face, creating jowls
- Loose neck skin
- Excessive fatty deposits located below the chin
- Muscle banding that creates not-so-normal contours in the neck
Some patients may not be ripe for a full facelift because their upper face is still planning, while there’s wrinkling in the neck skin. A neck lift may be an ideal solution where the neck area does not match the facial look. While non-surgical rejuvenation treatments are available, they cannot achieve the same results as surgery. Keep in mind that neck lift procedure does not fundamentally change your appearance or slam the brakes on the aging process.

Neck Lift surgery options
Neck lift surgery is usually performed as an outpatient procedure under general anesthesia. Depending on the patient, the surgeon may choose to make a traditional incision or a limited incision. The traditional incision curves around and behind the ears. Fat may be removed or repositioned from the neck and jowls. The surgeon will carefully reposition the underlying tissue and may tighten the platysma muscle. Excess skin may be trimmed away, and an incision below the chin may be necessary for the liposuctioning this area. In a limited incision, your surgeon will only make shorter incisions around the ear. Many skilled surgeons hide incision lines within the hairline and natural contours of the ear so that any scarring from the surgery is minimally noticeable. Once contouring of the neck is complete, skin glue or dissolving sutures may be used to close the incision sites. The surgeon may also apply a pressure dressing around your head and underneath the chin to ensure proper healing. Following neck lift surgery, patients may experience a temporary tight feeling in their neck region. Any bruising fades away within a matter of weeks. The surgeon will provide instructions to manage any discomfort, and ensure an uninterrupted recovery. You are required to strictly adhere to these instructions. Many patients are up and going within just a few weeks.
