The Musical Instrument Museum was opened in April 2010. To date, it is the largest museum of its type in the world, with a collection of over 15,000 musical instruments and objects obtained from nearly 200 regions around the world.
The Musical Instrument Museum (MIM) is the ideal place to see, hear and even play all kinds of sound instruments. It enchants visitors with thousands of tunes that play out while you explore the gallery. Additionally, live music events are held annually at the MIM Music Theater which hosts more than 200 international acts. The MIM is situated about 16 miles from Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport. Nearby hotels include the Residence Inn by Marriott Phoenix, Holiday Inn Express and Suites, and Cambria Hotel Phoenix hotels.
